Jungle Style Aquascape Workshop

A breakdown of the process of aquascaping and the progress. Our first workshop took place on 22nd October 2022. We are so pleased with how it turned out. We had lots of interested visitors to the shop, and I think that lots of inspiration was found by everyone.

Choosing Hardscape

The first part of the process was planned a bit before the event. Choosing hardscaping wood, rocks and substrate, can be a lengthy process of trial and error. Looking at pieces in the tank, moving them around, creating caves and shadows. Of course looking at where plants might sit best. Checking the view from all angles is important too.

There are so many options when it comes to wood and rock etc. We try to keep a good range in stock all of the time, but are happy to get special orders in for you just pop us a message across.

Choosing Plants

This is also quite a task, and will typically depend on the type of look you want to create. The idea for this scape was very much a Jungle or Nature style Scape. Plants growing around a fallen tree root. Plant choices were mainly Epiphytes like Anubias and Bucephalandra. With a mix of Cryptocoryne and some stems at the back. Full plant list to follow. All of the plants are fairly undemading, easy and fairly slow to grow.
